Meet the Team
A passion for lax

Tim Campeau                                             Steve McKinlay

Tim is thrilled to be sharing his knowledge and passion with youth lacrosse players. Not only building strong fundamentals with minor lacrosse players but also mentoring local high school student-athletes.

Tim attended Notre Dame de Namur (2004-2008), where he was a cornerstone in establishing a legitimate Division II program in Northern California. While playing for the Argonauts, Tim enjoyed much success. Tim was a team Captain as well as Team MVP during both his Junior and Senior years. Tim capped off his collegiate career by being named Notre Dame de Namur's Male Athlete of the Year. Tim enjoyed success in the classroom, earning a Bachelors of Business Administration.

In 2008 Tim was drafted in the 1st Round (12th Overall) to the Portland Lumberjax. Following a successful rookie campaign, Tim was picked up by Minnesota in the dispersal draft. Tim's passion and dedication was noticed by the new club quickly as he was named the teams Most Inspirational Player in 2010. Tim finished last season with the Colorado Mammoth before stepping aside to pursue a career in Fire Fighting.

He is currently coaching a U19 team in Coquitlam and recently completed his first year as the Head Coach for the Tri-City Elite. Tim says of his experience, "the culture of high school field lacrosse is changing for the better."

This summer Tim will be volunteering as Head Coach of the Coquitlam Adanacs PeeWee A1 Team. He will also be playing with the WLA's Coquitlam Adanacs for his 7th season. In 2009, Tim was recognized as the League's Unsung Hero, winning the Fred Wooster Award.

Steve is excited for what LaxOpp has in stock for 2012. LaxOpp was founded on the idea of networking within the NCAA and helping bridge the gap between players and coaches. The LaxOpp recruiting experience is a great opportunity for student-athletes who are serious about pursuing a collegiate career.

Steve attended The Ohio State University (2004-2008) where he played lacrosse under the direction of head coach and former team USA member Joe Breschi (current coach of North Carolina) as well as Springfield College standout Nick Myers (current head coach of the Buckeyes). Steve was a 4 time Scholar Athlete Award Winner and a 3 time Academic All Big Ten Selection. Steve completed a Bachelors of Science in 2008.

Upon graduating from OSU, Steve pursued a professional lacrosse career in the NLL. He was drafted to the Chicago Shamrox before being selected by the San Jose Stealth in the 2008 dispersal draft.

In 2011, Steve completed his Bachelors of Education from Simon Fraser University. Steve was part of an International Education Program and completed half of his degree in teaching in China. He has since been hired as a science teacher at Centennial Secondary School in Coquitlam.

Steve is currently the head coach of the Centennial Sr. Boys lacrosse team. He is also working with the Tri-City Elite team as the defensive co-ordinator. In the summer, Steve will be returning to Coquitlam's Junior Lacrosse Club for his 4th year as Head Coach for the Intermediate "A" Adanacs.

When Steve is not coaching lacrosse he is playing. Steve currently plays for the WLA's Coquitlam Adanacs since being drafted in the first round in 2007. In 2010, Steve was named the WLA Maitland Trophy winner for Outstanding play, Sportsmanship and Assistance to Minor Lacrosse.
